Installation Instructions for Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring
To replace your pressure cooker sealing ring, start by removing the used sealing ring and overpressure plug. Make sure to clean the sealing ring groove and overpressure plug hole thoroughly, removing any food or foreign material.
Next, wash the new sealing ring and overpressure plug in warm soapy water and dry them completely. Install the sealing ring by working it into the cover gradually, making sure it fits under the stop tab and lock pin on the inside rim. You may find it helpful to work from top to bottom and then from left to right. A light coating of cooking oil on the body lugs and sealing ring can help make opening and closing the cover easier.
Insert the overpressure plug by pushing the side marked "TOP" into the opening from the underside of the cover. The indented portion should be visible from below.
When placing the cover onto the pressure cooker body, press down on the area opposite the handle to compress the sealing ring and secure the cover in place. Test the cover by opening and closing it multiple times to ensure the ring is properly seated.

The outer diameter of the pressure cooker seal is 9.5 inches, while the inner diameter is 8.5 inches. These rings are compatible with Presto Parts 09936, 09904, and 50295.
Please note that our sealing rings are aftermarket replacement products that meet or exceed the quality of OEM seals. They are designed specifically for use with Presto pressure cookers and are not compatible with other brands.
